Marilyn J. Samuels B.A., B.P.H.E, LL.B, LL.M
Marilyn is a lawyer and mediator. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education from Queen’s University. She has a law degree from the University of New Brunswick and a Master’s of Law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University specializing in Health Law.
She has been practicing law for over 20 years as a litigator and a mediator. Areas of practice include divorce, separation, family issues, small business and wills and estates. She brings a wide diversity and understanding to her practice as a result of her previous experiences in the insurance industry and as a small business owner in the field of publishing.
Marilyn has extensive training in Alternate Dispute Resolution through the Centre for Dispute Resolution in Boulder, Colorado and at the University of Toronto. She also has had extensive training in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Family Mediation and Domestic Violence through the University of Waterloo.
She is a strong proponent of mediation and encourages her clients to use the mediation process whenever possible. She currently is one of the court based mediators at the Milton Court House, mediating custody, access and child support issues for individuals accessing the family court system.
Mediation and legal seminars are offered in association with Dr. Elayne Tanner. Through their unique association they are able to offer a combination of services that meet the personal and legal needs of the individuals they see.
